Imagine a gym where a robot lifts a barbell instead of you. The weight is big, the technique is perfect, but your muscles are not getting stronger. A similar thing happens with intellectual work: if the AI performs exactly the operation that the student is supposed to train, the result looks better, and the skill may not grow.
Two aid columns
| AI is doing it for me. | AI helps me do better. |
|---|---|
| Writes the whole answer. | Asks questions to my answer. |
| Solves the problem | Gives one clue. |
| Formulates an opinion | Argues with my position |
| Rewriting the book | Checking my retelling. |
| Creates a conclusion | Asks me to prove the conclusion |
Create AI-free zones
- first attempt at a solution;
- reproduction of the material without prompting;
- formulation of their own position;
- control work;
- part of creative tasks, where an independent idea is evaluated.
Find Weakness Exercise
Ask AI to explain a controversial topic. Do not immediately ask if he answered correctly. First, find unconfirmed assumptions, too broad a conclusion, and facts that require verification.
Change side exercise
- Formulate your own position.
- Ask AI for a strong counterargument.
- Defend your initial position.
- Try to honestly defend the opposite.
- Write down what data would really change your mind.
Test of dependency on clues
| Question | Risk signal. |
|---|---|
| Do I open AI before I try? | Yes. |
| Can I start without a plan? | No. |
| Checking sources? | Rarely. |
| Remember the answer every other day? | No. |
| Can I solve a similar problem? | No. |
How to turn AI into a resistance, not a crutch
- Ask questions instead of answers;
- demand counter-arguments;
- ask for new tasks after explanation;
- conduct exams without prompts;
- Close the chat before the final playback.
Last step rule
After any AI session, there should be an independent action: solve, explain, reproduce, write or defend. If not, it’s very easy to confuse a beautiful dialogue with real learning.
